Vogue 9929 is My new Jam

So I published about this new-to-me pattern a couple weeks ago, as well as haven’t published since since I am just as well hectic making more of them. I’ve made (mumble-mumble, counting on fingers) five? since that very first one, as well as I have one more one cut out on the stitching table. Yeah. It’s that type of gown — so simple to make, as well as finest of all, in the new (shorter) skirt length, it can be made up in just under two lawns of fabric, two as well as a half if it’s 44″ or under. Which means there’s SO many pieces of material in my stock that were as well little for my shirtdress phase that are all jumping up as well as down shouting “make me! make me!”

Like this one:

This is an old piece of seersucker that I’ve had *forever*. Every couple of years I’d haul it out, believing “surely there’s sufficient for THIS project” only to be unfortunately dissatisfied — up until now.

Likewise this piece of lovely heavy cotton — I believe it was bought from the Britex remnant table in a spasm of hope:

Here it is a bit closer:

I didn’t do the self-bias trim on this version, since the material was so heavy as well as rigid — this is completed (by machine, even!) with ordinary ol’ white bias tape.

This gown is fantastic for biking to work; the skirt is simple to pedal in, as well as being sleeveless, it’s nice as well as awesome on the bike, however I can cover up with a cardigan in the office. as well as it’s simple to gown down with sneakers, or make fancier with a belt as well as nicer shoes.

More photos this week as I wear more of the new versions …
